This was a really amazing workshop. Since I came back from London last year I’ve had my best months as a dog trainer.
What I really took from this work shop
Fostering a trusting relationship
Building a relationship based on trust and respect by being the source of what ever the dog might need at the time.
Long line work
Might sound strange but the long line work and leaning about prey and pack drive was new to me and the way Brian uses it to allow the dog to come into spaces he might not be comfortable with was really eye opening.
Other people’s perspectives
Just being at the workshop with so many like minded people really taught me about what is important when working with owners. The way your able to relax and watch dogs and people go through what needs to be done with Brian is amazing and you see the progress in minuets.
Ecollar training
Ecollar. This tool combined with Brains techniques and approach cleared up 2 years of me being totally uncertain about this tool. Now its like I really want to show people what it really is about and the benefits of off leash training so they don’t have to go through the 2 year struggle like I did. So, after going to the DPC to learn about dog psychology and then this workshop to learn how to pretty much transfer all that knowledge into training, I feel pretty well equipped to tackle any situation that might arise.
Final words
Thank you so much. I had to Pick a workshop to go to this year and it was between Jeff Gellmans, Brian, and Rosemary’s conference. I would love to go to all three but Brian’s and Jeffs over lap and Rosemary’s conference is about a week apart. After thinking about it hard I decided I would go to Jeff’s this year just to try something new. I think Jeff is a great trainer but I train dogs more like Brian Agnew and Cesar so it will be cool to get another perspective.
I have one question: Who thinks the early dog whisperer episodes are way better than the new ones? I DO!
